Special Processes

Under the heading of Special processes we mean all those “unconventional” workings and materials to which we resort when making high-tech molded rubber products, with regard to:

  • the kind of elastomer employed
  • peculiar manufacturing methods or requirements.

Some SPECIAL MATERIALS we use:

  • HNBR (HYDROGENATED NITRILE-BUTADIENE RUBBER)
  • VITON® (High-strength FLUORINATED RUBBER)
  • FLAME-RETARDANT CHLOROPRENE (when molded items must be self-extinguishing)
  • FLAME-RETARDANT SILICONE (when molded items must be self-extinguishing)
  • HYPALON® – EPICHLOROHYDRIDIN – PEROXIDIC EPDMs – EPM etc.
  • Sheared and punched PTFE (Teflon®) (for industrial and chemical applications and special plant engineering)

Some of our in-house SPECIAL WORKINGS:

  • RUBBER-METAL BOND
  • RUBBER-METAL-CLOTH BOND
  • RUBBER-METAL-PTFE-CLOTH BOND
  • PTFE- NITRILE RUBBER BOND
  • PTFE-EPDM RUBBER BOND
  • PTFE/VITON® BOND (Mostly for the chemical industry and a number of plant engineering applications)

Combining PTFE with other materials (see PTFE/Rubber products) adds further protection to molded parts, especially useful in the CHEMICAL, PLANT ENGINEERING AND SPECIAL MECHANICAL INDUSTRY, where some highly aggressive acids or components or liquid chemicals might come into contact with molded rubber parts and damage them.

Because of its intrinsic properties, PTFE provides an “impenetrable” protective barrier to the elastomer to which it is bonded (PTFE-RUBBER BOND).
